How to get to Cihlářka?

Cihlářská bouda is located in the challenging high mountain environment of the Giant Mountains, where transport depends on the season. In winter it is only accessible on foot or with a lift by the manager, in summer you can drive to the property. Read detailed information about parking, permits and access for hassle-free arrival.

Transportation by car

⚠️ Please note that you should read the information about access to the property and parking carefully, as Cihlářka is located in a high mountain area and is completely inaccessible by car for part of the year.

🧭 Arrival from Prague via Mladá Boleslav

Prague > Mladá Boleslav > Jičín > Nová Paka > Vrchlabí > Čistá > Černý Důl

Total length: 148 km

🚗 In the village Černý Důl turn the car behind the MILETA factory (left if you are coming from Vrchlabí, right if you are coming from Jánské Lázně), then continue 1.5 km until you reach the winter parking reserved for Cihlářka, where we will pick you up in winter. Transportation is provided in the winter by the property manager in consultation with you, from our winter parking lot "at the barrier" in Černý Důl.

❄️ Winter parking and transport

The apartment is situated at an altitude of 1000 m above sea level and the forest path to the apartment is not maintained in winter. The footpath from the car park is 2.5 km long and has an elevation gain of 280 metres. For most of the winter, the apartment cannot be reached even by an all-wheel drive off-road vehicle. Depending on snow and weather conditions, neither in autumn and spring. Don't let the navigation convince you!
You need to leave your car in our winter parking lot at Myslivna. One car is free of charge, another car is charged 100 CZK per day.
⚠️ Often the lower part of the road looks passable, but you may get stuck at higher elevations. It is very expensive to extricate the car and there is never any major damage to the sheet metal.
Arrival must always be arranged and scheduled well before 20:00, otherwise it is not possible to arrange transportation.

☀️ Summer parking

Continue on the no-entry road behind the car park on the left past the Myslivna Guesthouse for about 3 Km until you reach Cihlářská bouda. You can park in the summer car park above Cihlarská bouda.
⚠️ You must have a valid permit to enter the KRNAP National Park before entering. The permit is valid only for one car with the specified license plate number and for the arrival from the direction of Černý Důl, while from Pec to Sněžka entry is prohibited.

Permit to enter and stay in KRNAP

For entry and parking, please provide the landlord with your e-mail address and the license plate number of your car at his request so that we can issue you a permit to enter the KRNAP National Park where the accommodation is located.

🛑 The movement of cars is monitored by a camera system and without permission, the place is forbidden to enter and you can be fined by the park administration.

Parking at the apartment is only possible for one car per apartment during the entire stay. If you arrive at the apartment with more than one car, we also need to know their license plate number. However, they will only be allowed to drive to the accommodation to unload and load their belongings and leave the national park zone again. These vehicles will be parked in our winter car park approximately 3 km from the accommodation. In the national park, only car traffic is allowed between the winter car park (i.e. in the direction of the village Černý důl) and the accommodation.

Transportation by bus

If you arrive by bus, we can pick you up for a fee.

To the Black Mine on the square, from where you can hike to the winter parking lot. From there you can take the option of a lift from the property manager or continue on foot up the hill. The path to the car park is 1.9 km long with an elevation gain of 150 m, see Maps.cz.
You can walk to the bus station in Pec pod Sněžkou, or take the Zahrádky Express cable car or order a taxi in Pec. You can either walk down from the ridge or arrange a ride from Husova bouda with the manager for a fee. The route from the bus is 5 km with an elevation gain of 330 m and the climb can be shortened by chairlift, see Maps.cz and Skiresort Černá hora - Pec.
